At inception, the bank was wholly owned by shareholders from Ikpe Annag  Community. These shareholders comprised 8 private individuals owning 70% of the total paid share capital and 30% by the Prudential Co-operative community association. In September 2005, another private investor, Arc Ubokutom Nyah, joined capitalizing N2.5 million of fixed deposit and this brought some changes to the shareholding structure.
In pursuance of a desire to take advantage of the new micro-finance   polidy, the directors, in collaborartion with the shareholders had taken steps to to capitalize the bank to N40m under the name of Prudential Co-operative Micro-Finance Bank limited. To further strengthen the banks reposition for the new challenge, both existing shareholders and significant alteration of the shareholding.
